WINNSBORO – The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a domestic violence-related incident that occurred in the 2200 block of SC 200 near Winnsboro on Dec. 28 at approximately 9:45 a.m.
Charles ‘Chuck’ Gaddy, Jr. 48, was found dead at the scene. According to the Sheriff’s report, Gaddy died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Gaddy’s wife, Jane Porter Gaddy, 51, who was shot multiple times, was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Fairfield County Sheriff Will Montgomery said his office is working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office to determine the circumstances leading up to the incidence.
“We are saddened by the death of Mrs. Gaddy and our prayers are with their family,” Montgomery said.
